This member story was featured in a mental health exhibition in Malaysia titled Return To Light.

When dealing with trauma, I think it is really hard to find a good resolution. Things are not always black and white…there is a shitload of grey and fogginess involved in the mix. I suppose that is normal in these types of situations….the confusion and loss you feel coming out of that darkness while attempting to choose your next path. As individuals we are consistent in being who we ‘are’ however the facts of life that you wish to also be as consistent, seldom are.

As I edit this photo of the storm out on the lake, I ride the storm within; where the waters in the photo are calm my waters are rough. Where the sky in the photo is dark, my skies are clearing….but the intersections between sky and water remain difficult to pinpoint. Odd feelings to deal with.

I like storms. I do not like this one.

— Leslie M

Here are some of the personal notes the attendees left for Leslie!

“I like storms too. I just want you to know that you are never alone. ?”

“The hardest moment will be over one day. Endure it. All the best.”

“Learn to find peace in the midst of a storm.”

“You are not alone! You are strong! ?”

“Ignore those who don’t know you.  Everyone has their own shine!”
