Climbing Never-Ending Stairs

Black and white photo of stairs going up in natural environment with rocks and grass around
This member story was featured in a mental health exhibition in Malaysia titled Return To Light.

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’ve been climbing never-ending stairs. My anxiety is all over the place with each step. I’m still climbing up but no destination in sight.

— Amanda Ransom

Here are some of the personal notes the attendees left for Amanda!

“It’s okay to lose sight because of the hurdles and mist ahead of us. Breathe in, take it slow, enjoy every little moment in life. Remember, you are not alone 🙂 Keep ongoing, it’s worth it.”

“Pls reach out to loved ones so that they can climb the stairs with you & make it more bearable. I can’t imagine how tiring & hard it might be but take rest & climb with hope & purpose.”

“Maybe the destination of sight you are looking for is yourself! Just open your eyes widely and keep moving forward. You can see the sun at the end. <3”

“Be patient with the journey, it will be okay eventually 🙂 Find strength at every weak point of your life. Believe it gets better in time & you will see the stronger version of yourself. <3”

“Enjoy the journey itself! At times, it’s okay to not have your destination set. But importantly to cherish the stairs itself! You are not lost, you’re just at your own pace.”
